Political Economy of Conflict: The Social Contract and Conflict in Pakistan examines the roots of conflict in Pakistan through the lens of political economy and social contract theory. The book argues that the weakening of the social contract between the state and society has contributed to ethnopolitical conflict and militant violence. It analyzes issues such as ethnic identity, institutions, horizontal inequality, fiscal federalism, and Taliban recruitment, while proposing policy approaches for conflict prevention and resolution. The work is based on the author's doctoral research at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
