Publishing Terms and Conditions
These Terms apply to authors submitting work through Get Books Publishing House and Academic Publishing. They work alongside our Seller Terms & Conditions — once your work is published, it becomes a marketplace listing and the Seller Terms apply to that listing. Where content overlaps, this document links to the relevant Seller Terms section rather than repeating it, so the two stay consistent as either one is updated.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. What these Terms cover
These Publishing Terms explain how submitting, publishing, and selling your work through Get Books Publishing House and Academic Publishing works. They apply to authors of books, theses, research papers, monographs, and journal series.
2. Key definitions
"Author" / "You": anyone submitting a manuscript, thesis, paper, or other work for publication through Get Books. "Work": the manuscript, thesis, paper, or other content submitted for publication. "Published Work": a Work that has completed our publishing process and is live for sale. "Publishing Service Fee": the one-time fee covering formatting and registration pass-through costs (see Section 8).
3. Submission & review
3.1. Submitting a Work does not guarantee publication. We review each submission and may request revisions, decline to publish, or ask for additional information before proceeding.
3.2. Review timelines communicated to you are estimates, not guarantees.
3.3. You may withdraw a submission at any point before publication.
4. Editorial & formatting rights
4.1. We format your Work to a professional publishing standard (typesetting, layout, cover design where applicable).
4.2. You will see and approve a final proof before your Work is published — nothing goes live without your sign-off.
4.3. Formatting changes do not alter the substantive content of your Work without your consent.
5. ISBN, ISSN & DOI registration
5.1. Where applicable, we register an ISBN (for books/monographs) or ISSN (for journals/series) on your behalf, through the National Library of Pakistan as the national ISBN Centre.
5.2. Where applicable, we register a DOI for your Work through our Crossref sponsorship partner. DOI registration is subject to that partner's own terms and fees.
5.3. Registration fees are pass-through costs included in your Publishing Service Fee (see Section 8) — we do not mark up third-party registration costs as separate hidden charges.
6. Peer review — what we do and don't offer
6.1. Get Books does not operate an in-house peer-review board. We do not represent any Published Work as having been peer-reviewed by Get Books unless independently verified.
6.2. Where you request it, we may refer you to relevant academic contacts for peer review — this is a referral only, not a guarantee of review quality, outcome, or timeline.
6.3. If your Work has already been peer-reviewed elsewhere, you're responsible for accurately representing that status to us.
7. Ownership & rights
7.1. You retain copyright ownership of your Work. Publishing through Get Books does not transfer ownership to us.
7.2. You grant Get Books a limited license to format, publish, distribute, and sell your Work through the Platform, consistent with the marketplace license described in Seller Terms Section 8.3.
7.3. Co-authored works: if your Work has co-authors, you confirm that all co-authors consent to publication through Get Books. We may request written confirmation from co-authors before publishing.
7.4. Previously published work: if your Work (or part of it) was previously published elsewhere — including with an academic or international publisher — you confirm you hold the rights necessary to republish it through Get Books. See Section 15 (Warranties).
8. Publishing fees & royalties
8.1. Publishing Service Fee: a one-time fee covering formatting and registration pass-through costs (ISBN/ISSN/DOI), confirmed with you before you commit to publishing.
8.2. No monthly seller subscription applies to Academic Publishing authors — unlike standard Marketplace seller accounts, academic works are not billed on a recurring basis.
8.3. Royalty structure for print-on-demand Works: calculated using the same formula as Seller Terms Section 6 — print cost is deducted from retail price first, then the remaining margin is split by commission. See that section for the full formula and worked example.
8.4. Digital-only Works: royalty is calculated as a percentage of the full digital sale price (no print cost to deduct).
9. Format & fulfillment
9.1. Individual research papers are published digital-only by default.
9.2. Theses and monographs are available in both digital and print-on-demand formats.
9.3. Journals/series are digital-only by default, with an optional bound volume available on request.
9.4. Print-on-demand fulfillment (printing, packing, delivery) is handled per Seller Terms Section 6 — Get Books coordinates directly with our printing partner; you don't need to manage this yourself.
9.5. Cash on Delivery is not available for digital-only or print-on-demand Works. Orders are fulfilled only once payment is confirmed — see Seller Terms Section 6 and 13.1.
10. Once published — marketplace listing
10.1. Once your Work is published, it becomes a Product listing on the Get Books Marketplace, and you become a Seller for that listing.
10.2. The full Seller Terms & Conditions apply to your Published Work from that point on, including listing standards (Seller Terms Section 5), returns/refunds (Section 14), and seller conduct expectations (Section 15).
11. Payouts
Payouts for sales of your Published Work follow the same schedule, thresholds, and hold/deduction rules described in Seller Terms Section 11.
12. Taxes & compliance
You are responsible for your own tax obligations on publishing income, per Seller Terms Section 12.
13. Privacy & data
Your personal and institutional information is handled per Seller Terms Section 16.
14. Withdrawal & termination
14.1. You may request your Published Work be taken down from the Marketplace at any time; existing orders already placed will still be fulfilled.
14.2. We may decline to publish, or withdraw a previously Published Work, if it violates these Terms, infringes third-party rights, or is the subject of a valid legal complaint.
15. Warranties & indemnity
15.1. You warrant that you own or control all rights necessary to publish your Work, including for any co-authors and any previously published material.
15.2. If Get Books faces a claim because your Work infringes someone else's rights, you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs related to that breach — consistent with Seller Terms Section 19.
16. Limitation of liability
16.1. Get Books does not guarantee citation counts, academic indexing (e.g., in specific databases), or any particular level of readership or recognition for your Published Work.
16.2. General limitations of liability follow Seller Terms Section 20.
17. Governing law & disputes
Governed by the laws of Pakistan, consistent with Seller Terms Section 21.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as our publishing process evolves. Continued use of our publishing services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
